Three Components to Well Balanced Workouts

Let’s talk about exercise for a few minutes. Most of you are currently engaged in some sort of workout routine…and that’s fantastic.

But here’s a big question: Are you keeping your fitness regime balanced?

Many people might be scratching their heads right now, so we will break it down to make things easier on everyone!

There are three essential components to any well-balanced workouts regimen: aerobic exercises (think running), strength training (resistance) such as weights or bodyweight movements like pushups/pull-ups, and flexibility work that provides for stretching like yoga poses or dynamic stretching before each run.

It is essential to train all areas and ensure you get proper recovery time between workouts.

Aerobic workouts

Aerobic workouts are a great way to improve your cardiovascular health by making your heart stronger and more efficient at delivering oxygenated blood throughout the body.

They include activities such as:

  • Swimming
  • Running
  • Walking

Hiking, which is definitely a favorite! It’s easy on joints while still challenging muscles in new ways; try out some fun hills or even stairs if available for variety too!

Walking also provides excellent opportunities for socializing with friends since you can do it virtually anywhere together, with no need to buy expensive equipment or have access to an entire gym. Instead, you can incorporate exercise into your social life.

Strength Training

Strengthen and tone your muscles to burn more calories, prevent injuries or help ease old ones. The benefits of strength/resistance training are endless:

  • increasing metabolism
  • burning more calories throughout the day
  • maintaining muscle mass when dieting down for a competition

You can even get a fantastic strength workout by using your own body weight and performing variations of:

  • Push-ups
  • Pull-ups
  • Planks
  • Squats
  • Lunges
Flexibility

As we age, the risk of injury becomes ever-present. Flexibility allows us to continue moving efficiently and functionally as it keeps our joints lubricated by stretching out tight muscles so that they do not work too hard or over tighten.

Activities like yoga allow you to remain flexible while also enjoying a sense of peace in your mind which can help reduce stress levels from daily life when done regularly.

Key Takeaways:

We know that starting a workout program can seem daunting, especially if you’re unsure where to start.

That is why we break it down for you with three essential components of any well-balanced routine, which are aerobic exercises (running), strength training (resistance) such as weights or bodyweight movements like pushups/pull-ups, and flexibility work which includes stretches like yoga poses or dynamic stretching before each run.
It is essential to train all areas and ensure you get proper recovery time between workouts so your next session will be even more productive than the last.
